Rupac

Do you like camping and don’t know where to go? Rupac is the best destination for you.

Rupac, also known as the Machu Picchu of Lima, is located in the province of Huaral, outside of the city and approximately 3 hours car from the capital to the Pampas and then another 3 hours trekking from the village to reach Rupac.

It’s called that because it’s a ceremonial center built with stone materials on top of the mountains, just like Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu is higher than Rupac and it's also bigger. However, one of the main attractions of Rupac is that you are above the clouds. The hike to get there is very difficult but worth it. The view is beautiful and it’s similar when you travel by plane and see the clouds beneath you through the window.

In addition to this, Rupac is much cheaper than Machu Picchu and you can go for a weekend and camp overnight. Staying one night in a tent, making a bonfire with friends, and all of this can cost less than 200 soles.

Definitely, it’s a great place that you will enjoy with friends and the experience will be worth it.
